Date - 12th June CY13
Location - Village of Peaceful
Forces required - Command and control units plus covering forces. Mission outline - The last few weeks have been difficult for the inhabitants of Coopers World and even more so for the village of Peaceful. But now the time for redemption has come!
Following some probes by the Jersey City Brigade, a weak spot in the enemy’s defences around the village has been identified and we are ready to attack. Our best units have been called upon to end this embarrassing episode once and for all. The units, from the Jefferson City Brigade, will attack with devastating force and eliminate all Sardarken presence from the village and surrounding areas.
Mission requirements - The mission will now be led by Major Conrad commander of the Jersey City Brigade and former resident of Peaceful. Government forces will advance on the weakly defended Eastern sector of the village supported on the flanks by mercenary units. The mercenaries will provide flank security and communication support and may be asked for some technical assistance.
It is important that this mission should be seen as a primarily Government led mission.
Intelligence suggests that the enemy in this sector is strong with mostly infantry but some armour support. The units that took the village originally also had artillery support.
Mission reimbursement - The Coopers World Military Finance Division are offering a basic contract price of 20000Cr for this mission. Kill bonuses will be awarded.
Mercenaries interested in the contract should submit their responses plus the forces they will be committing to the mission to the usual place by the end of the day.
Scenario rules.
The village will be made up of 150 squares each 4cm by 4cm. A stand or vehicle must fully occupy a square. If the base exceeds the size of one square, the unit will be considered to be in the square occupied by its front left corner.
Any indirect fire targeted on the village will hit on a +2. To find out where the shells land in the village, a D150 will be rolled. (I have a plan for this!)
If a stand occupies a square hit by incoming fire, it will be rolled against as standard for a hitting artillery round. However, the Government have requested that the village be kept intact as they do not want to be seen to be liberating a ruin!
Any square occupied by any part of a building or building base counts as built up defence 7.
Any other square counts as open. Visibility in a town is 4cm through built up and 12cm through open.
