Reports have reached us that the strategically important Kalamein Mine is back in Government hands following an action by the Finlandia Regiment and its up and coming young commander Captain Ostlund. We hope to bring you an interview with this rising star of the mercenary world in next months issue. But for now, you're going to have to make do with his after action report.

Government on the Offensive. added 10th May

It appears that two more battles have occured on the suddenly very dangerous planet of Coopers World. Reports are coming in of a very bloody battle on the outskirts of a village close to the Coopers World capital. We have official confirmation from the government that their forces successfully repelled a large enemy force.

We also have another report from Captain Ostlund.

We also have reports that the Government have undertaken a further operation against the guerillas that also seems to have been a success. However, reports suggest that this operation did not go quite as well as the previous two and losses were high. We have heard that this was down to poor leadership but neither the Government or the mercenary commanders thought to be leading the mission were willing to comment.

Breaking News - Combat on Coopers World! added 4th May


The following statement has been received from the Government of Coopers World.

' The Government of Coopers World are delighted to announce that two days ago, our forces carried out a successful raid against the vicious and barbaric creatures threatening our continued safety and freedom on this, our home planet. This proves that our forces are ready and able to defend our people against all aggressors'

We have recently received this after action battle assessment from anonymous sources that seem to tell a slightly different story!

News has reached these offices of a frenzy of activity in the Beta Gamma System, a hitherto seemingly quiet little corner of the universe.
The government of the fairly new but highly productive colony of Coopers World has issued a note to all Mercenary commanders. It looks like they're desperate for experienced commanders for some reason. Rumours are rife of impending invasions and civil unrest but the true reasons for the seemingly desperate proclamation remain unclear.
It is safe to say that the offer on the table appears very generous, perhaps too generous, we will wait and see who responds and, of course, report everything to you!

This is the proclamation. - All interested parties should apply directly to Governor Jefferson.


I, Franklin Jefferson, acting as Governor of Coopers World, hereby invite interested parties to tender for the following contract.

The Government of Coopers World is offering facilities, men and equipment worth 35,000Cr to any mercenary leader willing to set up a unit on the planet.


The contract requirements are in two parts;
1) to create an on world training base for the newly formed defence forces of Coopers World.
2) to be available to the Government of Coopers World to carry out special assignments on the planet for sums to be agreed on a pro rata basis.
 
This contract will last for an initial period of one year but might be extended on the agreement of both parties.
 
In exchange for providing these services to the Government, each mercenary commander will receive the following re-imbursement.
 
10,000 Cr initial down payment to bring forces and equipment to the planet.
25,000 Cr worth of combined
a) equipment at cost price from the Governments own arms company.
and
b) troops chosen from the armed forces.
All normal expenses paid. (Not combat expenses)
1000Cr per month.
 
Mercenary commanders will continue to have access to equipment at cut price from the CMC Arms Corporation for the duration of the contract.
 
Mercenary commanders will be free to take other off world contracts should they become available so long as they do not interfere with their contractual requirements.
This contract will be for a minimum of 1 year until the local forces can be brought up to a reasonable level of competence.
