Talis 7

The assault on the airfield was a notable success, with the occupying militia routed with few casualties to Government and mercenary forces.    Importantly the capture of airfield communications equipment has allowed the Government and its supporters to get the best view for some time of the situation in the vicinity of the capital, including the level of spread of the main infection.

Other important material has also been captured, with two gunships and one assembled (and two unassembled) light aircraft, and a turboprop aircraft.

Bringing in flight crews from Fowey the two gunships and the light aircraft have been moved back to HQ.   The gunships are currently being armed by the engineering team and should be ready for action soon.    The turboprop meanwhile has been orbiting the Fowey – Redruth Axis, attempting to find out what the Redruth Militia are up to.

They report that the Militia are attempting to rally in Redruth – around 200 of them.   It appears they may counter attack the airfield.  Meanwhile a column of vehicles has also been spotted travelling south along a back road between Redruth and Fowey (heading South).   This convoy appears to be a small number (perhaps 6 or 7) armoured cars, several APCs leading perhaps a fifteen trucks.     The recce aircraft attempted to get a closer look but came under accurate AA fire and aborted.

Government instructions are to leave a holding force of Police and mercenaries to fend off the militia at the airfield, while the rest of the assault force returns to reinforce the other government troops and mercenaries at Fowey. Government troops and one of the mercenaries units are to return, most importantly bring back the tanks!

Talis Sitrep (as distributed by email).

In the hour or so after taking the airfield Communications were re-established.  On  Police and Military frequencies.

The  peripheral  towns around Talis city have been contacted and there are also one or two police and army hold outs in the City.     No contact with the navy.   A more powerful transmitter will be needed for deep space.

Moreton

Town under threat from infection.   The military base has been evacuated and with reinforcements from the town police and from the logistics base they have the equivalent of a full infantry company with support (i.e. 4 platoons).

The Moreton logistics base is intact and one of the platoon is guarding it.   The APCs and lighter vehicles normally held there are at Moreton, and small arms are being issued to civilians.    Overall things look in pretty good shape.

Bulith Wells

Well outside of the infected area.   Some problems with refugees and food supply, but generally under control of the local police.    The mayor has formed a militia, but no weapons available heavier than a rifle.    Nothing has been heard from the military or logistics base off of the main road for two days.

Tyreath Ford

`Panic’   The infected overwhelmed the military base about two days ago, around a half platoon got clear to the town commanded by a corporal.    (green sergeant).   Reinforced by the platoon from the logistics base, police and a few militia they are holding the bridge in the town, the infected having got the North bank of the river.   Basically they are knocking them down as fast as they can but they just keep coming!     You can’t get much more sense out of them, but there is a lot of small arms fire in the background

Cambourne

Silent.

Bideford

You actually by-passed Bideford to rescue the logistics platoon.  Since then the town have got themselves reasonably well organised.   They have formed anyone with military experience into a militia platoon, and with the police have managed to suppress infection (though the running battle you fought with the largest group of infected at the logistics base south of the town undoubtedly helped a lot.  They have since been to the logistics base themselves and have acquired lots of small arms,  ammo,  4 lorries and 4 smaller technicals.    They report the infected are currently about 10 KM East of their position.  So think they are safe for a day or two.
