Turn 1 Battle  Reports.

Ptolemy Vs Selucus

1 After some jockeying for position the Ptolemaic Xystophoroi charged the Seleucid Cataphracts winning the initial impact. The Cataphracts
held their position, although a little shaken, until their fellow Catphracts and the Scythians joined in. This proved too much for the Ptolemaic
Cavalry and they broke just as their supporting infantry was arriving.
The Galatian Infantry broke the Scythian Horse Archers in short time but followed up into the Cataphracts who in turn made short work of
them.
While this had been going on the Judean Javelinmen kept the Ptolemaic Thorakitoi busy in time for the a unit of Argyraspids to charge
them in the flank.
This area of the battle ended with a unit of Thorakitoi facing off a unit of Argyraspids and a unit of Catphracts in the open
2 The Ptolemaic left flank fared little better. Their Light Horse quickly lost to the more numerous Seleucid Light Horse and headed for the
hills as quickly as they could go leaving the Elephant Corps and the Thracians to negotiate not inconsiderable missile fire. The Thracians
drew first blood marching straight into the Seleucid Archers and hacking them to pieces in 2 turns. Things were looking tricky for
Seleucus and in order to stem Ptolemies advance, which had now been supported by a Pike unit, he committed his Judean Pike.
However, these fared little better and Ptolemies Pikeman and Thracians proceeded to send the Judeans home in coffins. At this point
Ptolemy tried to wheel his Elephants into the fray but were now beginning to tire from incessant missile fire and finally broke just as
the Light Horse unit had returned to the fray.
Seleucus promptly committed a unit of Argyraspids to halt the pikemen and kept the Thracians quiet by skirmishing from their front and
rear. The Argyraspids held off 5 times the number of pikemen for a number of turns which enabled Seleucus, in the end,  to hold the battlefield.
3 The Ptolemaic Skirmishing screen ran into the Seleucid skirmishers and suffered severely. As a result Ptolemy committed a unit of Xystopheroi
to relieve the pressure and they ran headlong into a combined Pike and Argyraspid unit which proved their ultimate undoing.
However, neither side seemed to be committing troops to the central area and it was only when Ptolemy went for one last push did the
heavy infantry join the fray.
But by this time the remaining unit of weakened Xystophoroi had been hit by a combination of Pike to the front and Cataphracts to the
flank and the Pike v Pike battle was stalemating.
4 The Thracians finally broke under a hail of arrows and javelins and in so doing took their Pike and remaining skirmishers with them.
This left Ptolemy broken, his casualties had been light in comparison to Seleucus but the combination of skirmishers and heavier troops
had been his troops undoing and their morale had gone.
